If there is any Mobile game that has changed the gaming perspective in India, it is Garena Free Fire. It was released way back in 2017 but it became hit in 2020 when the Government of India banned the massively popular game, PUBG Mobile in the country. Ever since the PUBG Mobile was banned, there have been numerous reports making rounds on social media claiming that Free Fire will also get banned in India.

A few days after Bangladesh High Cout directed the local government to remove all dangerous apps from its Cyberspace, Indian fans have not started wondering “is Free Fire banned in India?.”

Is Free Fire Banned in India?

There are multiple reports available on the internet claiming the Free Fire will be banned in India today. However, these reports are yet to be confirmed by the Government of India. Ever since the Indian Government banned PUBG Mobile and other applications in 2020, there have been numerous reports surfacing on the internet that claim that Free Fire will also be banned in India.

A few days back, ADJ Naresh Kumar Laka wrote a letter to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to ban or take action against popular mobile games such as Free Fire and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), which is said to be an Indian version of PUBG Mobile.

ADJ Naresh Kumar Laka is not the only one who wants Mobile games like BGMI and Free Fire to be banned in India. There are numerous activists, common people, and politicians who have been demanding the same. Since the Indian Government is yet to be responded to any of them, we can’t say whether Free Fire will be banned or not in India.

As we have mentioned above, the Indian Government banned more than applications citing a threat to national security. The popular application that got banned last year were — TikTok, PUBG Mobile, Likee, WeChat, and UB Browser.

While banning these applications, the Government had said, “This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of the state and public order.”

As soon as the Indian Government makes it official, we will update this post.
